March Talent Partners is a specialist agricultural recruitment consultancy. We provide horticulture recruitment across Australia, placing permanent talent from operational and supervisory roles through to mid-senior management.
Horticulture sits alongside broadacre, livestock, and cotton as one of the four sectors we work in. Seasonal labour, picking, and casuals fall outside what we do. The managers and operators we place run tree crops, vines, vegetables, and post-harvest operations across the country. We work from Brisbane and search nationally – wherever the property is.
Horticulture operations come to us for placements at every level, from operational and supervisory people through to the managers accountable for the result. These are the roles we're briefed on most across orchards, vineyards, vegetable growers, and pack-shed operations. We also recruit horticulture Agronomists.
Operations: Senior Farm Hand, Leading Hand, Irrigation Supervisor, Vineyard Supervisor, Farm Mechanic.
Management: General Manager, Regional Manager, Orchard Manager, Vineyard Manager, Packing Manager, Operations Manager, Harvest Manager, Assistant Farm Manager, Irrigation Manager, Farm Manager.
A General Manager can sit above multiple Orchard Managers in larger operations; in smaller operations, the Orchard Manager runs the program directly.
We recruit across Australia's major horticulture regions, including Sunraysia, the Riverland, the Goulburn Valley, Bundaberg, the Lockyer Valley, Tasmania and the Atherton Tablelands.
Pools cluster by district and commodity. Goulburn Valley orchard managers know each other, and they know who runs the citrus blocks in Sunraysia or the berry blocks in Tasmania. We brief each search to its region and commodity.

The challenge in horticulture is finding managers who can balance production, labour, quality and market requirements at the same time. Most experienced horticulture managers are already employed and rarely come to market.
The pool has tightened as corporate growers and investment-backed operations expand alongside established family businesses. At the same time, export compliance, food safety standards, water management and precision irrigation have increased the technical demands of the role.
We follow this market closely because we recruit within it every day and share what we're seeing through our insights.
Most successful horticulture placements begin long before a role reaches the market.
The people we're ultimately hired to recruit are usually already employed.
Our role is to understand the market, identify who is performing well, and engage candidates directly when the right opportunity emerges.
Timeline depends on the role, location and market conditions. We'll give you a realistic view of what's achievable before a search begins.
Every placement is permanent. Our consultants recruit exclusively in agriculture. Learn more about them on our about page.

We recruit across two bands. Operational and supervisory roles cover Senior Farm Hand, Leading Hand, Irrigation Supervisor, Vineyard Supervisor, and Farm Mechanic. We also place horticulture Agronomists. Every placement is permanent.
Yes. The same horticulture brief often runs from the orchard, vineyard, or vegetable block through to the packhouse. We recruit across both: Orchard Managers, Vineyard Managers, Farm Managers, and Harvest Managers on the growing side; Packing Managers on the post-harvest side; Senior Farm Hands and Leading Hands across both.
